Psychology is a regulated profession in Australia. This means that in order to call myself a Psychologist or practice psychology I had to gain registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), AHPRA Allied Health Practitioners Registration Association, and maintain membership with APS Australian Psychology Association. The PsyBA website includes a register of psychologists, so that you may check whether a person is registered. My professional services are in accordance with a strict code of ethics, written by the APS.
Please see links below that will take you to APS Australian Psychological Association and the PsyBA - AHPRA website if you wish to read more.

Although I work with people who have either or both a mental health condition or physical health condition, as a Psychologist, I do not prescribe medications. I do, however, work closely in conjunction with other health professionals, including General Practitioners and Psychiatrist around client’s medication needs, medication compliance or reviews. All treatments conducted by Psychologists are designed to work alongside any medical treatments, and not in replacement of these. The client's condition are discussed (with the clients prior signed consent) between all the treating team members which aims to ensure continuity of care is maintained. Ultimately, meaning the best outcomes for the clients mental well being and physical health care can be achieved.

To maintain my registration, I must undertake ongoing professional learning, undertake regular peer supervision with another clinically endorsed colleague, and report my Professional Development annually to both APS, and AHPRA.
